Engineered Through Experience

Microboard is the result of more than a decade of research and material development at Spheric Labs. Designed as a specialty wall panel for projects with specific performance requirements, it reflects a focused approach to solving persistent challenges in interior wall assemblies—acoustic isolation, fire-rated construction, moisture exposure, and durability under long-term use.

Through continuous testing, refinement, and field validation, Microboard has been engineered to offer consistent performance, ease of installation, and compatibility with standard construction practices—without compromising on technical requirements. It is used in a growing range of applications where wall assemblies must do more than simply divide space.

About Microboard

Microboard is a specialty wall panel engineered for projects that require precision, consistency, and performance from the start of installation through long-term use. It’s formulated with expanded perlite and other inorganic materials to create a panel that is lightweight, dimensionally stable, and well suited to interior wall assemblies with acoustic, moisture, or fire-performance requirements.

Because it contains no paper or organic content, Microboard maintains its integrity in humid conditions and limits opportunities for mold growth. The surface is durable and clean-cutting, reducing mess and minimizing damage during handling, transport, and finish work.

Microboard supports a range of assemblies, including one-hour fire-rated partitions and wall systems designed for high sound attenuation. It installs with standard tools and methods, and is available in familiar formats, making it easy to incorporate into both new construction and renovation projects.

With its unique material composition and performance profile, Microboard serves a wide range of sectors—multifamily, healthcare, hospitality, education, and beyond—where the wall system is more than just a finish surface, but a functional part of the space.
